Desulfurization
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003073
A chemical process aimed at removing sulfur compounds from fuels, industrial gases, or other materials. This treatment reduces the emission of sulfur dioxide, a major air pollutant, when the treated material is combusted or processed. Common methods include hydrodesulfurization for petroleum products and flue gas desulfurization for power plant emissions.
