Dichotomous sampler
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003149
An air sampling device that separates airborne particulate matter into two distinct size fractions, typically fine particles (e.g., less than 2.5 micrometers) and coarse particles (e.g., between 2.5 and 10 micrometers). This separation is achieved using an inertial impactor. The collected fractions are then analyzed separately to determine their chemical composition and concentration.
