Dynamic structure factor
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003504
A function that describes the collective dynamics of particles in a system, providing information about both spatial correlations and temporal evolution. It is the Fourier transform of the intermediate scattering function and is directly measurable by inelastic scattering experiments, such as neutron scattering or dynamic light scattering. This factor is represented as S(q, ω), where q is the scattering vector and ω is the energy transfer.
