Resonant inelastic X-ray scattering

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010260

A spectroscopic technique that probes electronic excitations by measuring the energy and momentum transfer of X-rays scattered inelastically from a sample. The incident X-ray energy is tuned to an absorption edge of a specific element, leading to a resonant enhancement of the scattering cross-section. This method provides detailed information about electronic structure and dynamics.
