Coherent scattering
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002181
A type of scattering where the scattered waves from different scattering centers maintain a fixed phase relationship with each other. This results in interference patterns that provide information about the spatial arrangement of the scattering centers. X-ray diffraction and neutron diffraction are examples of techniques that rely on coherent scattering.
