Eddy motion

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003572

The irregular, swirling movement of a fluid, such as water or air, characterized by localized currents that deviate from the general flow. These turbulent motions create eddies, which are small, temporary whirlpools or currents that transfer momentum and heat within the fluid. Eddy diffusion is a process where these motions contribute to the mixing and transport of substances in the environment.
