Electrostatic filter
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003793
A fibrous filter whose medium is held at an electrostatic potential, so that particles are drawn to the fibres on top of being caught by sieving and impaction. In one design the pleated fibre sheet sits between V-shaped supports of charged metal rods insulated from the frame. Unlike an electrostatic precipitator, it collects particles on the filter medium itself and not on separate plates.
