Fast-dissolving tablet
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004356
A solid oral dosage form formulated to disintegrate or dissolve rapidly in the saliva of the oral cavity, typically within seconds to a minute, without requiring water. This rapid disintegration is achieved by using highly porous structures or incorporating superdisintegrants and water-soluble excipients. Unlike conventional immediate-release tablets that are swallowed and disintegrate in the stomach, these are designed for pre-gastric absorption or ease of administration for specific patient populations.
