Fecundity selection
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004366
A form of natural selection where individuals with higher reproductive output contribute more offspring to the next generation, thereby increasing the frequency of their advantageous genes. This selective pressure favors traits that enhance the number of viable gametes or successful reproductive events. It is a key mechanism driving evolutionary change in populations.
