Fetal pole

The first visible sign of a developing embryo during an ultrasound examination, appearing as a thickening adjacent to the yolk sac. This structure represents the earliest identifiable embryonic tissue within the gestational sac. Its presence and growth rate are key indicators of early pregnancy viability.
