Chorionic sac

The fluid-filled sac formed by the chorion that encloses the developing embryo and amniotic sac within the uterus. It is the earliest visible structure in early pregnancy and can be detected by ultrasound. The chorionic sac provides protection and a suitable environment for embryonic development.
