Globule-to-coil transition
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004913
A conformational change in a polymer chain from a compact, collapsed globule state to an expanded, random coil state. This transition typically occurs upon changes in solvent quality, temperature, or pH, which alter the balance between intramolecular and polymer-solvent interactions. It is the reverse process of the coil-to-globule transition.
