Heliochromism

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005162

A reversible change in color of a substance upon exposure to sunlight or ultraviolet radiation, which then reverts to its original color in the dark or upon removal of the light source. This phenomenon is a specific type of photochromism where the light source is specifically solar radiation. It is observed in certain organic and inorganic compounds.
