Histaminergic
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005313
Relating to neurons, receptors, or other biological systems that involve histamine as a neurotransmitter or signaling molecule. Histaminergic neurons synthesize and release histamine, which then binds to specific histamine receptors on target cells to elicit a physiological response. These systems are involved in processes such as wakefulness, gastric acid secretion, and immune responses.
