Homolytic dissociative adsorption
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005379
A type of adsorption where a molecule breaks into two or more fragments upon binding to a surface, with the bonding electrons equally distributed between the fragments. This process leads to the formation of neutral radical species on the surface. It is frequently observed in catalytic reactions involving nonpolar bonds.
