Adsorptive

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000293

A substance that is capable of being adsorbed onto the surface of another material, known as the adsorbent. This process involves the accumulation of molecules from a gas or liquid phase onto a solid surface. The adsorptive is the component that undergoes the adsorption phenomenon, forming an adsorbed layer on the surface.
