Adsorption isotherm
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000292
A mathematical relationship that describes the amount of a substance adsorbed onto a surface as a function of its concentration in the surrounding fluid at a constant temperature. This curve illustrates the equilibrium distribution of the adsorbate between the mobile phase and the stationary phase. Common models include the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms.
