Partition isotherm
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008522
A graphical representation showing the relationship between the concentration of a solute in the stationary phase and its concentration in the mobile phase at a constant temperature, under equilibrium conditions. It describes how a solute distributes itself between the two phases as its concentration changes. A linear isotherm indicates ideal behavior, while non-linear isotherms suggest saturation or other interactions.
