Linear distribution isotherm

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006618

A relationship describing the equilibrium distribution of a solute between two immiscible phases where the concentration in one phase is directly proportional to its concentration in the other phase. This proportionality is maintained over a specific concentration range, indicating that the distribution coefficient remains constant. Such an isotherm is represented by a straight line when plotting the solute concentration in one phase against that in the other.
