Non-linear distribution isotherm

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008034

A relationship describing the equilibrium partitioning of a solute between the stationary and mobile phases in chromatography, where the concentration in one phase is not directly proportional to the concentration in the other. This non-proportionality means the partition coefficient changes with solute concentration. It is a characteristic feature of non-linear chromatography, leading to asymmetric peak shapes.
