Non-linear chromatography
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008033
A chromatographic separation where the distribution isotherm, which describes the equilibrium partitioning of an analyte between the stationary and mobile phases, is not linear. This means the partition coefficient varies with analyte concentration. Non-linear behavior often results in asymmetric peak shapes, such as fronting or tailing, and is common in preparative chromatography.
