Hypoxia

A state of insufficient oxygen supply to tissues or the entire body, falling below physiological needs for normal function. This condition can result from reduced oxygen in the air, impaired lung function, decreased blood flow, or the inability of cells to process oxygen. Hypoxia during pregnancy is a known teratogen, capable of causing developmental abnormalities in the fetus.
