In situ microanalysis

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005741

The chemical analysis of a material performed directly on a microscopic region of a sample without prior physical separation or removal. This technique allows for the determination of elemental or molecular composition at specific locations within the sample's original context. Electron probe microanalysis (EPMA) is a common method for in situ microanalysis.
