In-source collision-induced dissociation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005900
A fragmentation technique in mass spectrometry where ions undergo collisions with neutral gas molecules within the ion source region. This process induces dissociation of precursor ions into product ions before they exit the source. The resulting fragment ions provide structural information about the original molecule.
