Integrating sphere
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013198
A hollow spherical cavity with a highly reflective, diffusely scattering inner surface, used to collect and measure light. Light entering the sphere undergoes multiple reflections, resulting in a uniform distribution of radiant flux over the interior surface. This device is employed in photometry and radiometry to measure total luminous flux, reflectance, or transmittance of materials.
