Isobaric mass-change determination
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006168
A thermogravimetric technique where the sample's mass change is monitored while maintaining a constant partial pressure of a specific gaseous component in the surrounding atmosphere. This method is particularly useful for studying reactions involving gas-solid interactions, such as oxidation or reduction processes. The temperature is typically varied to observe the mass changes at different reaction stages.
