Isoelectronic
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006182
Describing species that have matching valence-electron counts and matching structures, that is the same number of atoms with the same connectivity, though the elements involved can differ. Such species often resemble one another in bonding and properties. N2, CO and CN- form a classic series, each with 10 valence electrons.
