Valence tautomerization
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012501
A specific type of isomerization involving the rapid and reversible interconversion of valence isomers. This process occurs through a redistribution of electrons within the molecule, leading to different bonding arrangements without the migration of atoms or groups. It is a dynamic equilibrium between two or more valence isomers, often observed in fluxional molecules.
