Isomerization
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006205
A chemical process in which a molecule is transformed into another molecule with the same atoms but a different arrangement of those atoms. This rearrangement can involve changes in connectivity or spatial orientation. The process often occurs through intramolecular reactions, such as sigmatropic rearrangements or ring-opening/closing reactions.
