Karyotype

The complete set of chromosomes in a eukaryotic cell, arranged by size, shape, and number. It is typically represented by a photograph or diagram of the chromosomes from a single cell, stained and observed during metaphase. A normal human karyotype consists of 46 chromosomes, including 22 pairs of autosomes and one pair of sex chromosomes.
