Latent image

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006473

An invisible image formed in a photosensitive material, such as photographic film, after exposure to light but before chemical development. It consists of microscopic changes in the crystal structure of the silver halide grains, which are not yet visible to the naked eye. This image is subsequently converted into a visible image through chemical processing.
