Electrophotography
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003786
An imaging process that uses a photoconductive surface to create a latent image from a pattern of light. An electrostatic charge is first applied to the surface; exposure to light then selectively discharges the illuminated areas. A charged powder, or toner, adheres to the remaining charged areas, which is then transferred to paper and fused to create the final image.
