Laxative

A substance that promotes bowel movements and facilitates the evacuation of feces from the colon. Laxatives are used to treat constipation by increasing stool bulk, softening stool consistency, or stimulating intestinal contractions. They are classified into several types, including bulk-forming, osmotic, stimulant, and stool softener laxatives.
