Local fraction desolvated
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006737
The ratio of the number density of analyte species that have lost their solvent sheath to the total number density of analyte species, including those still solvated, at a particular point in a nebulizer-flame or plasma system. This value indicates the extent to which the solvent has evaporated from the aerosol droplets before atomization or excitation occurs. It is a dimensionless quantity, ranging from 0 to 1.
