Mechano-chemical reaction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007117
A chemical reaction initiated or significantly influenced by mechanical forces, such as grinding, shearing, or stretching, rather than by heat or light. These forces can induce bond scission, conformational changes, or activate reaction sites within a polymer. Such reactions are often employed in solid-state synthesis or polymer degradation studies.
