Metallocene polymerization
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013275
A type of coordination polymerization catalyzed by metallocene complexes, which are organometallic compounds containing a transition metal sandwiched between two cyclopentadienyl ligands. These catalysts are known for their high activity and ability to produce polymers with narrow molecular weight distributions and controlled stereoregularity. They are widely used in the industrial production of polyolefins, such as polyethylene and polypropylene.
