Metrological equivalence of measurement results

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007283

A relation between two or more measurement results of one measurand that holds when they are metrologically compatible and every one of them is adequate for the specified intended use they share, so that any of them could be used in place of another. It is a stricter condition than metrological compatibility, which merely sets the results against their stated uncertainties and says nothing about suitability for that use.
