Microelectrospray

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007319

An electrospray ionization mode run at a low solvent flow rate, a few microliters per minute or lower, with the sample delivered by a pump. The smaller droplets and lower solvent load give better ion yield than conventional electrospray at hundreds of microliters per minute, which suits limited samples such as proteomic digests. Nanoelectrospray operates at lower flow rates still, in the nanoliters per minute.
