Reactive desorption electrospray ionization mass spectrometry
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013483
A variant of desorption electrospray ionization (DESI) mass spectrometry where a reagent is added to the electrospray solvent to induce a specific chemical reaction with the analyte on a surface. This technique allows for the selective ionization and detection of compounds that are otherwise difficult to analyze directly. The reaction occurs in the thin film of solvent deposited on the surface, prior to the formation of ions for mass analysis.
