Molecular imprinted polymers

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007499

Synthetic polymers engineered with specific recognition sites that are complementary in shape and chemical functionality to a target molecule. These materials are created by polymerizing monomers around a template molecule, which is then removed, leaving behind a molecular imprint. They are used in separation science, chemical sensing, and drug delivery for selective binding of analytes.
