Molecular wires
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013302
Linear, chain-like molecules or molecular assemblies designed to conduct electrical current from one end to the other. These structures consist of a repeating series of conjugated chemical units that provide a delocalized electron system, facilitating charge transport along the molecular backbone. Their conductivity is highly dependent on the chemical structure, length, and the nature of the contact with the electrodes.
