Monoisotopic mass spectrum
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007548
A mass spectrum where the signal for each ion corresponds to the mass of the molecule or fragment containing only the most abundant isotope of each constituent atom. This spectrum is particularly useful for determining the exact elemental composition of a compound. It contrasts with an average mass spectrum, which uses the weighted average of isotopic masses.
