Multi-channel pulse height analyser
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007621
An electronic instrument that sorts and counts electrical pulses according to their amplitude, storing the number of pulses within defined amplitude ranges, or channels. It is used in nuclear spectroscopy to determine the energy distribution of radiation emitted by a sample. The output is typically a histogram showing the number of events versus pulse height, which correlates to energy.
