Multi-centre reaction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007620
A chemical reaction in which bond breaking and bond formation occur simultaneously at several different atomic centers within a cyclic transition state. These reactions are often concerted, meaning all changes happen in a single step. Pericyclic reactions, such as cycloadditions and sigmatropic rearrangements, are prominent examples.
