Multi-strand chain

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007685

A chain composed of three or more parallel strands, so that adjacent constitutional units are linked through more than four atoms in total. A chain with n atoms on one side of its units is called an n-strand chain, for example a three-strand chain. Chains with one or two strands are classed separately as single-strand and double-strand chains.
