Multi-strand macromolecule

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007686

A macromolecule composed of three or more parallel strands, so that adjacent constitutional units are linked through more than four atoms in total. One with n atoms on one side of its units is called an n-strand macromolecule, for example a three-strand macromolecule. Macromolecules with one or two strands are classed separately as single-strand and double-strand macromolecules.
