Multienzyme polypeptide
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007637
A single polypeptide chain that contains multiple distinct catalytic domains, each capable of performing a specific enzymatic reaction. These domains are typically arranged in a linear fashion along the polypeptide, allowing for sequential catalysis of a metabolic pathway. Fatty acid synthase is a prominent example of such a polypeptide.
