Multistage countercurrent distribution
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007682
A separation technique that involves the repeated partitioning of solutes between two immiscible liquid phases in a series of interconnected vessels. The phases are moved countercurrently, allowing for the separation of compounds based on their differential distribution coefficients. This method is effective for separating mixtures with similar physicochemical properties, such as natural product extracts.
