Neocortex

The most recently evolved part of the cerebral cortex in the mammalian brain, responsible for higher-order cognitive functions such as sensory perception, motor commands, spatial reasoning, and language. It is characterized by its six-layered structure and is particularly prominent in primates. The neocortex is involved in complex decision-making processes.
