Neonatal tolerance
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007818
The state of immunological unresponsiveness to specific antigens induced when an individual is exposed to those antigens during the neonatal period. This early exposure can lead to the deletion or inactivation of antigen-specific lymphocytes, preventing an immune response later in life. It is a form of acquired immunological tolerance.
